Aura Quartz & Variations

Aura Quartz is the name given to a range natural quartz crystals that have been infused with precious metals under extreme heat and pressure in a laboratory. To date they have created about twelve different varieties of aura quartz, each being treated with different metals to give a full range of colours. If the treatment is applied properly the effect is stable as the crystal and metals bond on a molecular level, a little like modern day alchemy.

Clear Quartz belongs to the rock crystal family of stones. All rock crystals are composed of SiO₂ They form according to a trigonal crystal structure, and have a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
