Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli an opaque royal blue rock consisting of blue lazurite, white calcite, and silver pyrite. It has a hardness of 5-5.5 on the Mohs Scale. Lapis Lazuli is a relatively rare gemstone with a recorded history of more than 7000 years, favoured by the ancient Egyptians it features in Tutankhamun’s famous gold face mask.
