Charoite
Charoite is a relatively rare and almost uniquely found in Russia. It is an opaque deep purple gemstone that display a play of light known as Chatoyancy or ‘fire’ caused by its chemical complexity within a single stone. It has a vitreous, silky luster and a hardness: 5- 6 on the Mohs Scale. A Specific Gravity: 2.540 and forms according to a Monoclinic Crystal System.
