Fuchsite is a chromium mica K(Al,Cr)3Si3O10(OH)2. A green variety of Muscovite. Chrome is the element that stains emerald green and mica gives it a beautiful metallic sparkle. It is very soft 2-3 on the Mohs Scale and belongs to the mica group of phyllosilicate minerals.
